I'd still rather send a 150 out than a 142! And I suspect most people would prefer a 150 than a 142, unless you're a Pacer enthusiast of course!

While Pacers aren't cleared for Nottingham, I'm sure this is because they have never needed to be rather than any intrinsic incompatibility with the local infrastructure. If someone wanted to do it they could almost certainly be cleared without difficulty.
You have been warned.
There is also a 0710 Gloucester to Stansted on Weekdays formed by one set detached off the 0537 Birmingham - Cardiff.
But as a general rule on arrival at Birmingham trains from Stansted go back to Leicester and trains from Leicester go back to Stansted. The Nottingham terminators go back to Nottingham. Obviously occasionally sets maybe swopped around but as a rule thats what happens
On top of the quoted examples, the interworking between the routes is also as follows:
0515 Cambridge to Birmingham forms the 08.19 to Nottingham
0724 Leicester to Birmingham goes ECS via Lifford and then works 09.19 to Nottingham
The 08.54 arrival at Birmingham from Nottingham is formed of 2x170/5 which goes ECS to Tyesley where they split and formed the 16.09 & 17.09 to Leicester in the evening.
No it's because of axle counters between Chesterfield and Nottingham down the ere wash valley. 142s and 144s arnt cleared for routes with axle counters because they don't operate them correctly due to the single axles, basically axle counters don't register a train in the section and hence don't often revert signals to danger. 14x s very occasionally end up starting out from Leeds on a Nottingham service but get swapped of at Sheffield. Not sure what other routes round Nottingham have axle counters as we only sign into Nottingham west end from leeds
Problems with EMT getting the route would include; stock as EMT don't operate 170s, crew as most services are worked by New Street crews which is not currently on the EMT network, and Leicester XC crews working other services off the line, and with XC no longer serving Leicester they wouldn't want a depot there...
16:09 is more often than not a /1 (2 car), however /5 do show up about twice a week, also not that unusual for it to be a /1 (3 car) and a /3 made an appearance a couple of weeks ago (on a day the 15:52 was a 2 coach).
