Reading West and Cracen Arms are like that. one platform can handle InterCity stuff, the other one would just about manage a 4-car 156

One of the stations on the Shrewsbury-Pwllheli line is like that as well. Can't remember which one, and certainly can't spell it! :P

if I can have narrow gauge, then
On the Festiniog : Boston Lodge, Cambells Platform, CoedYBleiddiau , and Plas Halt are all one carr length, passengers for these request stops have to travel in last but one carr! - and getting away again.....
and on the Ratty : Muncaster Mill, Miteside (Boat), Fisherground, Beckfoot.
and on the Welsh Highland : Nantmor, Meillionen, Snowden Ranger, Bontnewydd, Plas y nant

Llandecwyn is the halt you mean. Talsarnau does not have a short platformm nor is it the first call after Penrhyndeudraeth heading towards Harlech!

Gilfach Fargoed is probably no longer than the various staff halts (Wimbledon, Battersea Pier, Hoo Jct, Longsight)

Despite its famous and enormous station name sign, Llanfair PG's platform isnt long enough to hold a 2 car train

hubberts Bridge between Sleaford and Skeggy, long enough just about, two hold a 2 car 153 (two joined together). On a 158 though, the guread only opens his door

on the Cambrian Coast. Normally only one door will be opened on a 158 at these stations.

But it's not that short as a 4-car 450 fits OK (as at Swaythling and Shawford). Local door only on a 444 is only needed because there's no intra-unit SDO.

If disused but extant platforms are permitted then how about Monkton & Came Halt (about half way between Bincombe Tunnel and Dorchester Jcn) which looks like fitting a two coach unit would be a bit of a struggle.
