If you think that trains will really have been delayed by sheep in Croydon, just because a member of staff says so, I have a bridge you might like to purchase.

I did notice the picture. See people of the north, We do apparently feel some of your pain down here in the south (ok i'm south west!), apparently we now use some of your Class 156s in South London!

In this case, and knowing southerns lack of coms, good on the staff member even if it's a little bizarre!

Clearly the person you asking didn't know but decided to leaven the situation with a little bit of humour by saying something that is clearly ridiculous that no-one would believe. I've done similar myself a few times and it works quite well.
