Was in Newcastle for a gig yesterday, so decided to get all of the branch line to Saltburn (minus South Bank as it was a 4hr journey home). Gotta tick off as much as possible for when I start focusing on Yorkshire and the Northeast!

Not as far along as you, but I look at Durham and wonder the same thing. :D
The answer to my own question is that, until the advent of the Waterside Wanderer" Day Ranger it was part of the "Land that Rovers Forgot" and not on a natural route to anywhere (for me!).

All Cornwall stations done. Almost certainly the only county I have completed.

An incident at Mirfield meant I could do a lot less stations than intended. A shame but there’s always next time.

A few more ticked off on my annual trip back to the UK

West Kensington (LU - felt surprisingly rural)

West Drayton (was hoping to also get to Tottenham Court Road, Acton Main Line and Hanwell but the heat had sent the Elizabeth Line into meltdown)

Stonehouse (Golden Valley line complete)

Johnston, Milford Haven (Milford Haven branch complete)

Pershore, Malvern Link (now visited all stations from Moreton-in-Marsh to Hereford to go with the previously completed set from Abergavenny to Shrewsbury)

And a couple of near misses - passed through Okehampton Interchange a few days before it's due to open and had a family holiday near Calstock where I was able to watch the trains go over the viaduct but couldn't get time away to actually ride on the trains

Schaan-Vaduz (Rail Replacement bus) - Gutted that Nendeln and Forst-Hilti have been bulldozed and track ripped up at the moment due to track replacement. Will return to finish off Liechtenstein!
Chur
Disentis/Muster
Brig (not to be confused with Brigg Lincolnshire)
Vevey
Geneva
Lyon Part Deux
Marseilles St Charles

Two of the awkward squad ticked off, and a reminder to properly check walking routes in and out of rural stations. The short walk to the S3 bus stop in Fawler was like dodging F1 cars in the Monaco Grand Prix. Far too lively for what should be a very low risk hobby! :D

Doing a fun loop of England today, wasn't aiming for stations but I'm tired!

Walked Finstock - Charlbury when I did those last 4. Never again! So far the only worse experience of traffic has been the A483 from Cynghordy to Sugar Loaf.

2/8:
Delamere
Mouldsworth (note - there's a lot of on road walking between here and Delamere forest!)
Knutsford
Bache
Spital
Bebington
Port Sunlight

This completes the following:
  • Mid Cheshire Line
  • Wirral Line (Chester): I have one left in Ellesmere Port but timing this with the parliamentary stopper.
  • All stations in Merseyside
North West England is almost 100%! Branching out slowly as well.
