Severe delays east coast

The area around Doncaster and south of York is mainly open fields (not many embankments on either side of the line). Wouldn't be suprised if it were corn/wheat stubble that had been set alight.

Yes I have noticed in recent years how overgrown the sides of the lines seem to be these days, even on very busy routes. However when travelling on SWT last Saturday to Exeter, I think I saw that in certain locations West of Basingstoke there was evidence of trees etc being pruned and the embankments cleared.

As opposed to one of the trains I was on last weekend (I can;t remember which but it may have been the Pacer on the Gainsborough Central Parly service) where at points we were brushing away trees as we progressed along the line!!!
