Llanfairpwll

The success of the wrought iron tubular bridge at Conwy [opened 1849], lead Stephenson to build the original Britannia Bridge to a similar design.[This bridge was opened in 1850, and survived until 1970, when some boys playing in it managed to set it alight].

Llanfairpwll, etc, is famously the longest place name in the world, or in Wales.
The longest place name in England is Cottonshopeburnfoot, a hamlet in Redesdale in Northumberland, England.

The first syllable of Loughborough suggests it should be besides a major water feature but is in fact some distance from the sea, as is true of Tideswell.

Here from my eyrie, as the sun went down,
I heard the old North London puff and shunt,
Glad that I did not live in Gospel Oak.

Portsmouth sounds like it should be at the mouth of a River "Port", but it's not.
Grangemouth sounds, etc... but it's not
