Pontypool was involved in the development of iron smelting technology from mediaeval times, with a blast furnace being built there as early as 1536. All iron smelting was carried out using charcoal until Abraham Darby developed a way of smelting iron with coke at Coalbrookdale in Shropshire in 1709.

Cookstown in County Tyrone also has a church that is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.

Cookstown Hockey Club is the town's field hockey team, who play at Molesworth St, Cookstown; the first team currently plays in the Premier League of the Ulster Senior League. Another club in the same league are North Down Hockey Club, who play at The Green, Castle Lane, Comber, County Down.

The Dundonald International Ice Bowl is home to the Belfast Giants ice hockey team, current UK Elite League champions. Dumfries also has an ice bowl. It is home to the Solway Sharks, current winners of the Northern Premier League.

Callington in Cornwall is also associated with the production of meat pasties enclosed in pastry. (In Forfar they are known as "Bridies").

St Mary's Church, Callington is a Grade 1 Listed building consecrated in 1438 on the site of an earlier chapel; it was enlarged in the 15th century, with restoration in the 19th century, including work by J P St Aubyn and John Dando Sedding (1838 – 1891). Another Church of St Mary restored by the latter architect in the 1870s is in Stogumber, Somerset.

Monksilver in Somerset was also once administered by the Hundred of Williton and Freemanners.

The Church of All Saints, Monksilver dates from the 12th century and has been designated as a Grade I listed building. It has a square west tower, built in the 14th century, which contains a ring of five bells, including one by Roger Semson of the nearby village of Ash Priors, Somerset which was cast between 1530 and 1570.
