Todwick in South Yorkshire also has a church that is jointly dedicated to St Peter and St Paul.
With the above-bolded; and another "Hag"-commencing settlement -- Haggerston, Northumberland (7 miles south-east of Berwick-upon-Tweed) -- we learn that their name-derivations would seem to have nothing to to with unprepossessing not-young ladies with imaginably evil agendas; rather, they concern people's proper names. The former is reckoned likely to involve Old English words adding up to "homestead of the family or followers of a man called Haguweard"; the latter, to come from the name of the family who held the local castle many centuries ago: the de Hagardestons (probable Norman conquerors). (There is the east London district also called Haggerston; but I thought the Northumbrian settlement seemed to be better fun !)Hagworthingham in Lincolnshire was also once under the jurisdiction of the Horncastle Poor Law Union.
