Birkin has a small fishery on the fringes of the village. So too does Rode, Somerset.
Not meaning to nitpick here -- just whimsical-ness -- @Xenophon PCDGS: the above-mentioned one-time administrative division(s), at times quite a favourite of yours; but if I'm right, you render as "Winniebriggs and Theo": which has always tickled me, conjuring up visions of Mr. and Mrs. Briggs -- Winnie seeming definitely like the power-wielding, domineering one; and Theo the meek henpecked husband. @High Dyke: you would seem to favour a slightly different rendering.... was also once part of the wapentakes of Winnibriggs and Threo (or Threw)
Scottish towns with "people" namesakes in a certain doleful ballad, involving four ladies called Mary -- (Port) Seton; and Hamilton: South Lanarkshire (main administrative centre of that council area).Port Seton, East Lothian, is also served by a number 26 bus service
