Felixkirk in North Yorkshire also was once administered by the Birdforth Wapentake.
The village takes its name from the dedication of the church. There are many instances of this, Kirk being another name for church. Another village named as such is Kirkmichael, South Ayrshire.Felixkirk in North Yorkshire also was once administered by the Birdforth Wapentake.
There seems to be some confusion here between Kirkmichael in South Ayrshire - which does not lie on the River Ardle - and Kirkmichael in Perth & Kinross - which does. I suggest that we continue from Kirkmichael, South Ayrshire.Enochdhu in Perg and Kinross also lies on the line of the River Ardle.
