Nunriding in Northumberland was also once under the jurisdiction of the Morpeth Poor Law Union.
We had fun thereon, with that line; over Christmas, didn't we? That's what brought that particular settlement to my mind in the first place.I immediately recognized the name Nunburnholme from its closed station we have often called at on the Closed Stations Journey quiz...![]()
Ousethorpe is described as "a small hamlet in the civil parish of Millington; approximately 1.5 miles north of Pocklington" -- so small that it doesn't feature on my road atlas ! The mentioned Millington (East Riding) does, however; 2 miles north-east of Pocklington.Ousethorpe was also once administered by the Wilton Beacon division of the Warthill Wapentake.
