Apsley has a, per Wiki, "minor semi-professional" football team called Apsley Argyle Football Club. Plymouth's football side, has the same "Argyle" suffix (where does this particular name in this context come from, one wonders?).

In Stoke-on-Trent's coat of arms, one of the four quarterings of the shield features a kneeling camel. It turns out that camels feature more often in heraldry, than one might imagine -- though generally reckoned, at least in this part of the world, a disagreeable beast: on the heraldic scene, the camel represents temperance, patience, and perseverance. Nonetheless, could find no other British settlement whose coat of arms included camel(s): not Queen Camel, Somerset (7 miles north of Yeovil) -- the second word of whose name is not to do with the animal: suggested to come from the old Celtic words canto = "district" plus mael = "bare hill". (On one space in Queen Camel parish's coat of arms, there appear three blue creatures: hard to identify, but they are for sure, not camels.)

Saddleworth is another settlement which was formerly in the West Riding of Yorkshire, but was transferred to Greater Manchester in the 1974 local Government reorganisation.

I have a feeling that Saddleworth is not a single settlement as such, but an area name comprising of number of hamlets and villages within its area environs.

Willingdon, East Sussex -- now part of Eastbourne -- also has its name borrowed for fictional use, by George Orwell in his novel Animal Farm.

The RSPB's Leighton Moss reserve is adjacent to Yealand Conyers; though main access is via nearby Silverdale. This reserve is probably nowadays the best place in Britain for encountering bitterns; more so now, than the long-favoured bittern venue of the Norfolk Broads (despite the Norwich -- Sheringham rail route's being marketed as the "Bittern Line"). If fortune favours one, the species can be found around Hickling Broad: close by the village of Hickling, Norfolk; and named accordingly.

Nelson, Lancashire, also lies on the route of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. (Very useful in this game, is that canal -- it runs through lots and lots of places on its highly indirect way between its termini.)

Caerdeon in Gwynedd also has a church that is dedicated to St Philip ... but this one is currently classified as redundant.
One of the "last refuges of the desperate" (Caerdeon -- "Greater Barmouth" -- a new place to me): there is on the Net, one of those features "20 best things to do in..." -- which are sometimes highly "creative" geographically; this one seems to play reasonably fair -- one of its recommendations is the beach at Llwyngwril, Gwynedd -- a few miles to the south.
