There is a nature reserve adjacent to Bournemouth, wherein can be found all of Britain's six native species of reptile. The same is true of the nature reserve at Woolmer Forest, near Bordon (Hampshire).

Whipsnade, Bedfordshire, also has nearby carved in a white chalk hill, a figure of a creature which is not a horse. At Bulford it's a kiwi, carved by New Zealand soldiers in 1919; at Whipsnade a lion, to advertise Whipsnade Zoo.

Hoping that this is moving on sufficiently, topic-wise: Cadeby, South Yorkshire, has also been the site of a notable colliery disaster.

Cilybebyll in the Neath/Port Talbot region also has a church that is dedicated to St John the Evangelist.

@Xenophon PCDGS: you do come up with some doozies -- prompting me to desperate expedients ! Another settlement in the Celtic parts of our islands, with a semi-phonetically "Killib" beginning: is Killybegs, Co. Donegal :s.

Middlesbrough in its coat of arms, lays some claims as it were, to the explorer James Cook; whose early life was, broadly, in the locality. (Middlesbrough's coat of arms includes a star; in tribute to Cook, whose own coat of arms does likewise.) Cook spent his later childhood and early teens in Great Ayton (a few miles south-east of Middlesbrough), where his father was employed.

Rotherhithe (London Borough of Southwark) also features former docks, now filled-in -- in Rotherhithe, transmuted to a various-characteristics "green space" / nature reserve.

In the purlieus of Millbank is the area formerly known as Tothill Fields -- for long a wild, marshy and undeveloped stretch of land; in the mid-18th century, it was the home venue of the Westminster Cricket Club. Also renowned in the early annals of cricket, is Hambledon (Hampshire).

The Church in Wales parish of Bridell is on the A478, which starts from the roundabout with the A487 south of Cardigan. After passing through Pen-y-Bryn in Bridell parish, it crosses the River Plysgog, and climbs through the hamlet of Rhoshill.

Aberdaron also lies in -- in fact, near the western extremity of -- the Lleyn Peninsula.
