The church featured in the video of ‘The Living Years’ by Mike and the Mechanics. ‘Mike’ is Mike Rutherford, born in Chertsey.

King Henry VI, after being deposed for the second time by Edward IV, was murdered in the Tower of London and his body buried at Chertsey Abbey in 1471. In 1484 his remains were removed to St George's Chapel at the castle in Windsor.
