The suffix wich in Cheshire indicates a place where salt is mined. It used to travel to Yorkshire via the Cheshire ‘salt corridor’, in which Woodhead was the last settlement before the border.
Why are you hedging your bets, out of interest? The cricket commentator John Arlott resided in Alresford between 1961 and 1981.
I'm offering two options to proceed:
(If I'm allowed this) He died on 14th December 1991 in St Annes, Alderney, Channel Islands
(If I'm not allowed this) He was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire on 25th February 1914.

You can't blame him, as the rules as written do not make matters clear as to which areas are allowed to be used in postings.
it's clear that Channel Islands settlements are allowed, so continuing from St Anne.....Rules:
Repeating any of the previous three clues or names of settlements in a link is forbidden (you can of course quote a previous post)
Associations provided should be clearly dissimilar to each of the previous three associations.
Settlements may be anywhere in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland (Éire), Isle of Man and The Channel Islands.
A description of the association should be incorporated in each posting, without simply posting the name only.
