Oaksey Park House, a three-storey manor house, was built in the early 17th century, possibly for Sir Henry Poole, although it was demolished in 1956. Between 1604 and 1611, Sir Henry was the MP for Cricklade, the parliamentary constituency named after the town of Cricklade in Wiltshire.
