On School Road, Hall Green, is the Church of the Ascension, formerly the Job Marston Chapel, which was built in 1704 and is believed to have been designed by Sir William Wilson. In 1693, he was commissioned to design and build Sir John Moore's Grammar School in Appleby Parva, Leicestershire, which was completed in 1697.

William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness (1410–1484), laid the foundation stone of the Collegiate Church of St Matthew, commonly referred to as Rosslyn (or Roslin) Chapel, in 1446. His first son (William Sinclair, 2nd Lord St. Clair) was, in the opinion of the father, a wastrel, wherefore he was disinherited. His family received only the Castle of Ravenscraig, which is located in Kirkcaldy in the Kingdom of Fife.

Blaxton is about a mile from the end of the runway of Robin Hood Airport and directly under the flight path. In a similar position in relation to Exeter Airport is Clyst Honiton.
