Is Craigenputtock an actual town or village? Mr W Pedia tells me that it's the residence where Thomas Carlyle lived for many years. However, it's in the civil parish of Dunscore in Dumfriesshire, within the District Council Region of Dumfries and Galloway, so if we continue from there, we can say that the long abandoned Dunscore Old Kirk was located near Fardingwell Farm, between Robert Burns' Ellisland Farm and Robert Ferguson's "Isle Tower". Robert Burns was born in Alloway, Ayreshire, on 25th January 1759.

My apologies. Craigenputtock has indeed got a house, a crag, a moor and a burn but no village!

Wing Commander Robert Roland (Bob) Stanford Tuck, DSO, DFC**, AFC was the Station Commander at RAF Coltishall between 1947 and 1948. He was born on 1st July 1916 in Catford, London, and died on 5th May 1987, aged 70 in Canterbury, Kent.

The Excalibur Estate in Catford was for many years the largest surviving group of WWII "Prefabs". All except six have now ben demolished. The six remaining, together with ten in Hall Green, Birmingham, have been Grade II listed.
