I'm not even certain that there is such a place (ie settlement)! When I was a lad my grandparents lived in Bildeston and that was in Cosford RDC but there was no town or village by that name that I knew of. The council offices for Cosford RDC were in Hadleigh and there was a Cosford Hall just outside Hadleigh, so I assume that the local authority area must have been named after that.

Anyway, my next answer is Stewartby simply because it sounds similar to Stewarton
