The club plays at of Coldham's Common on the eastern outskirts of the city, and participates in the Hertfordshire County Board or Hertfordshire GAA Championship. Another Ladies' Men's Gaelic Football club in the same competition is St Joseph's (Waltham Cross), although their home matches and training takes place at Bullsmoor Lane Playing Fields in the London Borough of Enfield.

Wappenham has some of the earliest architectural works by Sir George Gilbert Scott RA (1811 – 1878), including the red-brick vicarage, east of the church, built in 1833 as a home for his father Reverend Thomas Scott who was vicar of Wappenham at the time, which was his first work, built while he was still an assistant architect. All Souls' Church, Blackman Lane, Leeds is the last church he designed before his death in 1878: his son, John Oldrid Scott, took over the supervision of the building.

The British former Formula One driver and commentator Martin Brundle was born and raised in King's Lynn. He competed in Formula One from 1984 to 1996, racing for the Brabham team in 1989 and 1991. At this time, the team was based in Milton Keynes.

Woking is home to the Shah Jahan Mosque the first purpose-built mosque in the UK, dating from 1889. However the first ever mosque in the UK was converted from a terraced house in Liverpool a few years earlier.

The Williamson Tunnels are a series of extensive subterranean excavations in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool. They are thought to have been created under the direction of tobacco merchant, landowner and philanthropist Joseph Williamson (1769 – 1840) between 1810 and 1840. His philanthropy earned him the nickname the King of Edge Hill, whilst his tunnel-building activity earned him posthumous nicknames, including the Mole of Edge Hill and the Mad Mole. For many years it was thought that he was born in Warrington, Lancashire; however, recent research by staff and volunteers of the Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre has shown that he was born in the West Riding of Yorkshire and that his father was a glassmaker in a small village near Barnsley.

St Leonard's Church, Ragnall was largely rebuilt and extended by the British architect Ewan Christian (1814–1895) between 1864 and 1867. Some years later, between 1876 and 1878, he was also responsible for the alteration and restoration of St Peter and St Paul's Church, Shelford, Nottinghamshire. Both Churches are Grade II* Listed.
