Pimperne is an old village, possibly dating from Saxon times, and is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) as ‘Pinpre’.

"Townlandsville" -- Mount Bruis appears to me, to be one of those entities: I'll resort to, as association-place, Emly: seemingly the nearest "proper settlement" -- west of Tipperary town, and right up against the Co. Limerick border. Emly was the 2009 winner of the Irish Tidy Towns Competition. 2024's victor therein (one takes it that 2025's round, is yet to happen) was Ballincollig, Co. Cork -- about five miles west of Cork city.
