Rufford in West Lancashire also lies on the line of the River Douglas.
As came up in the game, concerning other settlements, a few days ago: in times past, county boundaries in this part of England were complex and tangled, including assorted enclaves, exclaves, and such things. It seems that a good deal of simplification of these matters took place in 1931: part of which, involved various swappings-around between Worcestershire and Gloucestershire -- Kemerton was in Gloucestershire prior to 1931. A "switch" in that year in the other direction, featured Blockley near Moreton-in-Marsh: pre-'31, in Worcestershire; since then, in Gloucestershire.Kemerton in Worcestershire was also once administered by the Lower Division of the Hundred of Tewkesbury.
