Additional and longer trains are on order, the 377/6s (5 car) I'd suggest. Also, there's all those 377/5s to come back from Thameslink in the future, currently stabled at Bedford etc...
(The upcoming franchise merger won't affect any of this, space will still be needed.)
These are what are known as the 'forest' sidings, being reinstated for the new rolling stock on order. We shall have to come up with a new name now that they're now longer...er...forest.

Traditionally sidingd retain names that they were given years ago, so the New sidings at Toton have been there about 25 years, and the Steam Shed at Stewarts Lane was neither a shed (the roof was removed in the 1960s) or for steam engines any more!!

Correct, the Forest sidings are coming back into use for the 377/6 fleet. As for the /5 fleet, they are likely to be accommodated by in part the 456 leaving in addition to the stabling capacity changes planned for Southern/Thameslink franchise as part if the TLP.

The works on re-opening the sidings at Selhurst Depot

the bay platforms are being remodelled and Southern trains lose the ability to hold trains
overnight. The site that has been identified as a substitute for London Bridge is the disused Selhurst Field Sidings.
