I would think yous would be starting soon, within months anyway. They wouldn’t have asked for medical, disclosures etc If you weren’t. I don’t think so anyway.

I have started Module 1, week 1 this week.
I am at Motherwell depot. There are currently 21 trainees for this depot, albeit at different stages of the training programme.
I genuinely cannot provide any definitive answers, other than it seems to be a watch and wait for folk.
I know of other folk who have passed everything and they have been told that they will not be allocated a course until after April 2026, due to Driving Instructor shortages, there seems to be an imbalance, especially between certain depots.
I hope it happens sooner, rather than later for you, as I have been in your position and there is nothing worse than the waiting.
It seems very chilled, no pressure is out on you. However, do not underestimate the learning and effort you will have to put in. It is alot of mental work and studying outside of the training school is a must.

No, but I'd love to! I'm waiting for the Dundee depot (which I assume you are) and although I've passed all the assessments, the medical and disclosure parts are yet to be concluded.
Nope, just preparing for competency questions and should be able to bend them to fit.
I have found this absolutely brilliant, thank you so much for sharing it! If you have time to share more, I'd be forever grateful.. thank you!

No. Airdrie and Bathgate are 2 separate depots on the same route.

Has anyone who has done their second assessment centre day in the last few weeks able to say if the MMI interview is still the same day if successful with them, or has it changed?
I've had my first assessment centre and my DMI but I have seen talk about it having changed between my DMI and now.

Sat my 2nd assessment centre on Tuesday, MMI to still be arranged, although we were given the 6 questions to fill out in anticipation for it
I'm due to sit my computerised tests in 2 weeks time, I emailed and asked if there was an MMI that day too and was told no
I sat my 2nd assessment day, including MMI at the start of September. I know I've passed, but I am just waiting for some contact regarding my medical.

I take it you’ve already had your DMI? If you have the DMI after the 1st assessment day you seem to do the MMI on the day of the 2nd assessment. If you do 1st assessment then straight to 2nd then the MMI will be on a different date. That’s what seems to be happening

Pretty much how you’d expect it to go tbh! The WAFV is pretty easy, the square is a decent size (approx 2”x2”) and stays on screen for about 2s at a time. The screen is a decent size so you can take your gaze away from the spot without losing sight of it to help.
The ATAVT is pretty hard going. Think the point to take is only mark down what you DEFINITELY saw, probably better to miss 1 or 2 things than put down a wrong answer.
The 2Hand coordination test is easier than I expected but also harder the shape is fairly easy BUT it is very narrow in relation to the red dot AND the controls are very sensitive. I went with the speed option, I did touch the lines but never went over them. I felt if I tried to go slower I would end up making more mistakes and be marked down on time and accuracy then.
You’ll also fill in your situations for the MMI at the end. It looks like everyone always gets the same questions from what I’ve seen in previous posts so it would be good to get some ideas in your head ready to fill that in.

I am due to go for my computer tests. Can anybody confirm the exposure time of the street scene slides? I've heard it is 1.4 seconds...

How long did you get per slide for the ATAVT? Am I right in saying it is 1.4 seconds, and how many slides did you get?

Anybody on here sit the part 2 on Wednesday? If so, check your emails. I’ve just had my successful email through. You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face with a shovel. Onto the MMI now

I think they said it was 1.2s but I could be wrong, it’s a bit longer than you think, but because it’s on quite a big screen it’s a lot to take in

That’s quick getting the reply. Good effort.
Unfortunately failed assessment 2 the computer ones, awaiting feedback from them to see what part I got wrong.
Anyone else been in this situation? I’m still very keen to try again, would I need to re apply for the role or is it as simple as re doing assessment 2 once the 6 months have passed?

I know, I was surprised myself when it came through.
unlucky mate. Someone asked that question at my part 2, they said that you can’t reapply for another year. However, when you’re reaching 11 months give HR an email to say you failed at this point then. Then they’ll get you in to sit they tests again without reapplying or doing any of the previous tests

Does anyone know what the current salaries are for Scotrail drivers at trainee level up to fully qualified? There is information on their website but I get the feeling it’s a bit outdated?
