Well after the moaning about not getting out and about on the hst's,glad I dodged that one sounds like it was a bit of a faff.
Shortage of train crew for the refurb diagram today sadly and other is using for training
Did both power cars fail?43135 loss of power and has had to be assisted. It’s still sitting there now. First proper (ScotRail) HST failure on the main line in passenger service.
Did both power cars fail?
Okay, thanks. Thought that would be the case but only one PC number was posted.Total loss of power.
And you still don’t get it about PRM work and who is ultimately responsible. Well, I suppose you either don’t understand it or don’t want to understand it.They don't need to do anything of the sort, merely poont oit that the Roscos have had decades to get this sorted and have failed to do so, not the government's circus or the government's monkeys. Scotrail in particular knew the score when they took on the HSTs, knowing they'd have to get them done to a tight to unrealistic deadline even before wabtec started making a meal of things.
If they get carte blanche to keep running non PRM compliant stock indefinitely or even for anythimg mre than a few months after the deadline, then the disability rights lobby will be up in arms and rightly so and the press narrative will be 'government letting their corporate mates off the hook at the expense of passengers with disabilities.'
I've been saying this right from the start, and have been regularly slated for it, but thus far I've seen nothing to suggest it hasn't been an utter shambles.
Don’t keep us all in suspense then, what’s the punchline?
The broken down 04:53 from Inverness to Edinburgh has finally terminated at Edinburgh over 4 hours late! Both the LNER services from Aberdeen are now ridiculously late too, along with the CrossCountry service to Taunton.
Thank God it wasn't a refurbished set - the press would have even more of a field day than they're already having!
Is it clear if ScotRail are sponging 158s off the Montrose services, to cover for Classic HSTs?
If not, then surely there needs to be a contingency to suspend the Montrose services until Intercity capacity can be sorted out. Standing on a rammed 158 heading to Glasgow whilst passing an empty one which sits in Montrose sidings for 20 minutes at a time before a short working to Aberdeen, isn't the greatest of experiences.
I'm sure the average passenger would happily take a 5 minute extension to journey times to compensate for the loss of services from Stoney, Laurencekirk, and Portlethen, if it meant they can at least get a seat on a 4-car service.
Why has the third set not departed yet? This is a joke.
VSTP paths can be added in minutes. But no delivery path has yet appeared on RTT, so it's looking increasingly unlikely.
I heard about that on BBC radio 2, in the back of my mind I did think maybe it was a HST that had failedHA10 on the 06:40 Aberdeen to Glasgow has broken down at Arbroath this morning. Back log of delayed trains behind it and some cancellations for the local Aberdeen-Montrose services.
I think you mean if it was a refurb set it would have departed a lot quicker to reduce the delays behind.Thank God it wasn't a refurbished set - the press would have even more of a field day than they're already having!
Total loss of power is a pretty debilitating issue whether the train is fitted with power doors or not: I think they got the set moving as soon as they could!I think you mean if it was a refurb set it would have departed a lot quicker to reduce the delays behind.

I need to travel from central Scotland to Aberdeen for work and there's no way I'd risk the Scotrail service at the moment.
