Hi just found and joined this site, I will have a look around after this message as I am desperate for information.

Info so far
I applied for the a conductor position, on-line test and assessment passed and I am now waiting for an interview I have had no railway experience.
I served in the forces straight from school and since leaving only had 1 job (made redundant) so I have never really had much experience with job interviews. In the next week or so I expect to be interviewed for this position but I have no idea what to expect, could someone let me know what they went through especially if they have just done one in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
I been on the scrap heap for nearly 3 years and this is the best opportunity I have had since being made redundant.
Thanks Guys

Stevie

To be honest I am in the same boat as you matey. Only I'm applying for Glasgow. Just got my interview left to go. It will be a structured interview. Do some research on first group/ scotrail. Google structured interview questions things like tell me a time when you had to deal with such and such a situation etc. good luck.

How do you know that it will be a structured interview? Will it involve ticket checking or selling?
Good luck when it happens
Best Regards
Stevie

Hi folks. Had the interview on Monday in Edinburgh. Mostly competency based questions and they asked how I had prepared for the interview. Received a conditional offer on Wednesday and have the medical tomorrow! They don't hang about. They didn't asked what I knew about the company but that's not to say they won't. Good luck folks
