Is it just me who dislikes the door opening buttons as they don't give any feedback when you press them?

That annoyed me too no idea whether it had worked or not!

They change colour. I'd rather there was some tacticle change, but there is at least some signal that your "press" has been accepted.

Is that formed up as a "proper" 7 car set - or can I just not tell where a 3 ends and 4 begins?

Or rather where the 4 ends and the 3 begins, since the lead set is 103. Unless you can see the windows, the end of a set won't look very different from the end of an intermediate vehicle.

You can just about see how the front of the 5th car from the camera has a more curved appearance to its corner than the other cars, as the fronts are. But yes, it's not super obvious in that photo!

Yes that's correct. 62 delivered, 61 in service and 8 at Newton Aycliffe

The loco on rear was added at Doncaster this helps with the shunting at Merchant Park.

Had a 12 min delay at Stirling station this am as rear door would not lock. Are they still experiencing teething troubles with the doors?

Pity the 10 passengers at Stirling last week which were locked in a train for 20mins. Missed connection . Seems guard locked train assuming empty and went off duty.

Had a 12 min delay at Stirling station this am as rear door would not lock. Are they still experiencing teething troubles with the doors?

Pity the 10 passengers at Stirling last week which were locked in a train for 20mins. Missed connection . Seems guard locked train assuming empty and went off duty.

And having the guard go off duty without ensuring the unit is empty is relevant to it being a 385? Surely if there was no movement from the doors passengers would have used the emergency door release to gain 'freedom'

I will pin him down on it when I see him next on the train.

He would be a "horses mouth" source . So I would hope not exaggerated given it was only last week .

Always a possibility especially if it's not been reported .

speaking of the emergency door releases on the 385, I've noticed some have a plastic cover (presumably to avoid "accidental" activation) and some not.

Where not fitted it been both doors (i.e platform and 6ft side) not fitted at a pair of doors.

Is there any requirement for a cover to be fitted and if it isn't why bother?

The emergency handles have all had their covers fitted.

Would've thought it would be fairly obvious to a guard that there were still people on board and also seems strange that those people didn't use an emergency door release.

Following the introduction of DOO on the stock movements there were several cases of passengers arriving at Canton Depot on an empty unit, usually late at night and asleep.
