I agree, I've had to lock toilets out of use before due to vandalism or as they were on Saturday locked up as the water pipes had froze so no water available to wash hands or flush toilets, in that case the toilets simply can't be used which isn't fair for the passengers who travel from London on a toiletless Class 313 wishing to use the toilet on arrival at Hertford to find the toilets out of use.

Then what about staff who work nights who might wish to use them, where do they go?

Clean the toilets whilst passengers are boarding when there are turn-around times of around 10 mins?

trains should be ready for passengers first thing in the morning, toliets not being ready/cleaned/operational is not good enough

So what happens when the train all nice and clean then gets vandalised by someone later on, to me that's not good so what's the difference between a train entering service having been unable to be cleaned/tanked/emptied etc...and a train in service later on?

I see Scotrail have not learnt lessons from 2 weeks ago.

Sunday service between Edinburgh and Glasgow. 3 car very overcrowded trains to the extent the gaurd was trying to stop people boarding. Not easy when on a Sunday it is only an hourly services. Trains not departing ontime but no info. Not even we are waiting for a driver (or whatever)

Monday. No 6 coach trains to been seen. Emergency timetable in operation. What is the first notice you see at queen street? Services running normally from this station. Hmm this is normal then.

So still a little work to do. They did to their credit have lots of platform staff. I wonder if the Bathgate route is busy today with the Linlithgow one shut.

Yep. Shame they don't have enough sets to run the Bathgate line half hourly. It would reduce the need for the buses. 1h20 on a train must be quicker than a bus train combo.

Units when released should always be ready for service. If they are not then there is usually a reason for it. For example some depot CET tanks were unable to be emptied due to them freezing up. This resulted in units being unable to be tanked.

I suppose they could just keep the units that are not tanked in the depot rather than sending them out to carry passengers.

interesting to note a 156 at bathgate depot this evening . My 334 from waverley to glasgow was rammed as i think the via falkirk highs were hourly .

Apparently due to 'broken rail at Winchburgh Junction', according to Linlithgow staff.

well they fixed that one in record time, just arrived back into Edinburgh from Glasgow half an hour ago! no TSR or anything at Winchburgh.

The lines running through platforms 1 and 2 at Haymarket were closed off and there were people working on them though.

Journey outbound was the 17:54 Edin - Glasgow via Shotts, which left 10 mins late and took 1hour 40 mins, huge sigh of relief when it crawled out of P13, only for it to stop at the next signal underneath the Mound for 10 minutes! Much rather that than roll the dice with the risk of rail replacement buses via Falkirk.

Train back was delayed 10 mins while a fitter kicked ice off the front/sides of the train.

To be fair, Scotrail did well to run services between the 2 cities tonight.
