It'll never happen, you'll have maglev railways first.
No computer would work on grounds of cost, maintenance, upkeep costs and the day to day reality of main line railway operations.
If you had one you'd still need someone in the front, you do on aircraft, you do in an automated automobile, so ergo, what is the point ?
And do you know what ? I don't consider myself anything special, crikey, I even have a cup of tea with the platform staff and the cleaners and everything !!!!!!!! It's a job, and if I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd be off to a Greek Island with no railway on the very first plane, forever.
