Aye, I will agree with that. Thinking about what I said last night I would go as far to say the only one that really holds a candle to the West Highlands is Kyle, then a fair way down after those two would be the S&C, Highland ML, Tyne Valley etc. Some would have you believe the S&C is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I find its beauty more in how long the scenery is maintained (well over a few dozen miles) and the occasional beauty spot than constantly jawdropping scenery a la Fort William and Kyle.
When in Scotland I picked up a book produced by First Scotrail advertising some of the scenic lines. It's somewhere I would quite happily repeat my May holiday in that area.
West Highlands on the sleeper is well worth the trip, although I would imagine the new sleeper stock when it arrives will be sealed up (no openable windows in the doors)
Yeah it's all easy stuff to do which is always a plus!
