What level of regularity is needed for a goods working to be acceptable, and where do the rules stand on such things as OTP, ECS or railtours?
I'm not a judge, but based on observations in the past...

We've semi-regularly ended up on the WHL and had the Jacobite, or I seem to recall the Scarborough Spa Express featuring without objection previously, subject to it being the right time of year, which to me might suggest railtours are acceptable.

Not sure about Track Machines but I think the likes of the NMT have made their way on here in the past, subject to them being a semi-regular path I imagine. Not sure if ECS moves qualify though?

If only one class of train serves the location you would get trapped there. However, I see the game has moved on.
I believe rule 1 would apply (if possible)
  1. For each journey, a different type of rolling stock must be used (no sub-classes*). However a class can be re-used once another class has been previously (eg. Station a - class X - Station b - class Y - Station c - class X - Station d)
*Easement to rule 1: if you accidentally end up at a terminus station with no other choice of rolling stock than the one you have just used, then if applicable then you may be able to use a different sub-class of the same class. If this cannot be done then you must return to the previous station.
E.g. if the only units at Kilmarnock were 156s, we could say we came in on a 156/4 and went out on a 156/5.

Since this game seems to spend half the time wandering around London and its suburbs, let's get out as quickly as possible for a change.

Class 800 from London Kings Cross to Aberdeen.
