Started on Monday 29th September 2025, and witnessed today Tuesday 30th September 2025, through Wolverton and with the tanks in action sanding the line was this working:

1. 3J01 1424 Kings Norton OT depot to Bedford Saint John's.
Was Gbrf crewe working the sandite train, but the locomotives top and tailing the sandite service was 66119 66169, two red Db liveried locomotives, hired in from db schenker.

2. PLEASE Note it's return working is
3J03 1855 Bedford St Johns to Kings Norton Ot depot.

However both moves this week on the rail record website are shown as short term planning moves.

It appears this move has started early and also Gbrf are hiring in locomotives from Db schenker.

So 66119 and 66169 are on hire to Gbrf for sandite work at the moment.

Looks like they found 70801 for the logs - losing the Lindsey to Kingsbury/Jarrow traffic has actually
worked out quite well for Colas in the end; they'd be having to hire in more 66s otherwise!

It was a shakedown (test) run - a lot of RHTTs do that a week or so before daily operations commence.

You'd thing that in the wake of Storm Amy, Network Rail would ask GBRf to run an extra train or two,
but money must be too tight to do that!

37099 originally booked to work 0Z37 Leeds Balm Road - Derby RTC but that was cancelled and it ran 0Z38 to York Parcels Sidings on Monday where it still is now. Presumably soon it will be allowed onto Thrall or maybe kept in the Parcels Sidings until it's required to work 3J51 (175/254 currently don't sound particularly well!!)

Seems the South Yorks circuit ran into trouble today arriving in to Sheffield on 3S12 85 mins late, rest of the diagram was cancelled and they ran 3Z13 back to Thrall
