Nope! You can add me in too, not a fan of Chapman seats mind but I like the interior and the silver livery

It wouldn't be so bad if it WAS silver. At the moment it comes across as a dull dirty grey which has no meaning now the massive Alphaline A and that particular brand itself has gone.

Plus the inconsistencies of having Wales and West - themed interiors is a little bit embarrassing (although the 175s are still purple inside and the ex-FGW 150s are too!)

On the rare occasions when I see a blue & silver 158 that ATW have recently washed, they still look quite smart externally (though the black ARRIVA logos don't look right, couldn't they have used the blue of the doors for the ARRIVA logo?) I also prefer the previous internal colour scheme to ATW's new one, apart from the seat covers and the carpet on the floor, but sadly the previous interior had suffered too much wear and tare.

On the subject of 175s, you mention the purple but I noticed that 185s (and, from a video I've seen, 180s) have Arriva-green strips on the internal doors (though in the case of the 185s I think it has First TransPennineExpress written on it), even though Arriva have never operated the units.

Indeed - they've always been green, it's not Arriva green, it's just... green. The chunky handles on the seats, plus recesses behind buttons and handles by doors are also all green. I know, I was confused too, but looking at the video of the FGW Adelante on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeB_DnxZEUs) it's a happy coincidence. I've no idea if they're still green on the GC, Hull Trains etc Adelantes.

I got this photo of a Grand Central 180 interior. The blue seems a bit lighter but am I right in thinking they are in the first class carriages?

ATW 158826 has been reliveried.

Only one x W&B remains: 158819.

Three x Arriva mk1 livery : 158818/823/829.

It is suggested that these will be in for refurbishment in this order:
Unit 21 C6 & Refurbishment 158829 15 days Fri 27/7/12 Thu 16/8/12
Unit 22 C6 & Refurbishment 158823 15 days Fri 17/8/12 Fri 7/9/12
Unit 23 C6 & Refurbishment 158819 15 days Mon 10/9/12 Fri 28/9/12
Unit 24 C6 & Refurbishment 158818 15 days Mon 1/10/12 Fri 19/10/12

so W&B maybe available for photography until 10th September.

Rather impressively, someone in First Great Western's Exeter depot has finnaly found some FirstGreatWestern.co.uk vinyl to adorn 153333 - So, it's not lost it's London Midland livery yet, but has finnaly lost the London Midland branding. So, only took them a year and two months then...

Quite possibly. 325 was in Bristol area last week, and I thought I did see it had been done, but I didn't get close enough to tell which one it was!

Arriva Trains Wales are putting new vinyls in the gaps on the stripes of their 158s. In this picture I took, look how the area around the vinyl is cleaner than the rest of the train, implying it had been cleaned specifically to apply the vinyl, and that it says "Welsh Government" rather than "Welsh Assembly Government" like the old vinyls did.

Can anyone confirm if 158819 has entered refurbishment and relivery?

158823 should have exited.

Travelled on the refurbished WAG MkIII's on Friday.

Comfortable, a good layout and work carried out to a good standard.

Time to keep those Painters in the Paintshop at Crewe! Someone's splashing out abit then.

@railwaygazette. Porterbrook Leasing has signed a £1m contract for LNWR to repaint 72 Class 150/2 vehicles operated by Arriva Trains Wales.

I wonder what livery they will get.
Maybe the WAG livery the 158s and Mark 3s are in
Fascinating that they are being repainted at all, as they all are already in the same livery as the 175s.

Doubt it, as DB seem to want to be distancing the DB Brand from the UK by appointing Arriva to take control, leaving the DB brand to Freight.

The 36 ATW class 150 are to be repainted. The first 150213 entered Crewe LNWR on 14th October after working the 18.38 from Cardiff to Macnchester and 22.35 to Crewe. Thanks to Rowland Pittard, NorthWalesTrainsNews

I don't think any ATW 150s or 153s have been given new paint jobs yet

Hence the quote in my post - First 150s undergoing (or should almost be complete by now) at LNWR Crewe.

Not really sure if this is the right thread to put it in but former ATW 57314 (and therfore 57315) has had it's ATW branding finally removed by Virgin.

Still no appearince of said 150 yet but 72 150 vehicles for only £1M - Someones got quite bargin there!

19.10.12

Porterbrook Signs £1M contract with LNWR for repaint of Class 150/2s

Porterbrook Leasing has signed a contract with LNWR to repaint 72 Class 150/2 vehicles operated by Arriva Trains Wales, valued at £1M.

The first unit entered works on 15 October 2012 at LNWR’s depot in Crewe as part of the scheduled heavy maintenance programme. The contract is due to be completed by May 2014.

LNWR, part of the Arriva group, is a leading maintenance and servicing provider with 5 depots across the UK. Following substantial investment in developing heavy maintenance work the company is in a position to compete for future overhaul and refurbishment work. This is the first contract Porterbrook has placed with LNWR.

12.10.12

And yes, they will be coming out in the same livery as the WAG funded 158s.
