Doesnt Harrogate - York have some semaphores? Newcaatle - Carlisle has mechanical interlocking but i dont know if it still has semaphores.
At Blea Moor, Running line signals are all colour light but there are semaphores on the loops, I think. Horton in Ribblesdale down intermediate block are colour light, so after the down distant at Settle Jct, running signals are colour light till the down home at Garsdale. Similar for the up but I dont think there are up intermediate block signals between Blea Moor and Settle Jct .
There are IBs on the Up between Blea Moor and Settle, these are colourlight. The Harrogate line from Harrogate to York is semaphores. The Hadrian's Wall line, as I've mentioned above, does have semaphores.

Bognor's, Hastings' and Littlehampton's semaphores are still on my list of "I really must get photos of 'em on a sunny day".
That last bit, is why I've yet to achieve it. :D
Does Deal still have them? I havent been down there post pandemic.

Holyhead is still semaphore, plus some other boxes across Anglesey. Llandudno, Deganwy and North Llanwrst are also semaphore locations.

The signal box at Greenford still has some semaphore signal, and although its situated away from the station, you can still see at least one set of signals. That part of the line is really only used by freight these days.
Is there anything left on the Dudding Hill Line?

The Up Home signal at Blea Moor is still a semaphore - with a subsiduary arm on a second post leading to the loop. There are colour light Intermediate Block Home and Distant signals in both directions between Settle Junction and Blea Moor....with the Homes being about half-a-mile beyond Horton station in each case.

Liskeard and St Erth survived the recent cull in Cornwall :)

IIRC there was a semaphore like-for-like replacement a few years back.

Sorry, just opened Lucy1501's list, which covers Cornwall.

Not sure what is left on the East Coast's branches, but not much (somewhere on York-Scarborough? Hexham? Knaresborough-Poppleton already mentioned).

The semaphores start at Harrogate on the Knaresborough Line, with Belmont and Starbeck between Harrogate and Knaresborough having semaphores as well.

Hexham has two semaphores, so do many of the other boxes on the route as previously mentioned.

York-Scarborough has a few mechanical boxes, Kirkham Abbey and Barton Hill are the main ones which comes to mind but there is more. On the Hull-Scarborough line there is also Gristhorpe Gate Box with semaphores in both directions.

There’s semaphores on the Skegness line, and at Nunthorpe on the Whitby branch.

If I were to give it my best shot for the four regions I know the best (I imagine I'm slightly behind on the boundary changes...)

-Willesden Carriage Shed North
-Willesden Carriage Shed South
The ones in the Willesdon Carriage shed area use to be fascinate me.

You'd see modernish looking intercity trains parked and to exit, they would need to go past a semaphore signal. Talk about mixing old with the new.

Quite a few between Carnforth and Carlisle via Barrow.

I admired those last year as I travelled on that line on a Saturday. It wasn't the fastest rail journey, but very interesting.

I overnighted at Hexham last year.

While I caught a train from Hull, I've not travelled on the Scarborough lines so thank you: nor have I been to Skegness.

Rainford Junction.

I'm a bit out of date about what's happened on the Warrington - Ditton Jn line. e.g. boxes at Arpley Junction, Littons Mill Crossing, Fiddlers Ferry etc. Any contenders along there?

Harrogate to Knaresborough is a mixture of semaphores and colour lights. For example, Starbeck has a colour light signal at the end of the York bound platform. Knaresborough is expected to lose the semaphore signal on the gantry at the Leeds end in the near future as the gantry is structurally unsound around its foundations. A colour light signal on the Leeds bound side will be its replacement. I understand that listed buildings consent was sought for recently.

Are there still semaphores on the line through Uttoxeter and on the Cotswold line through Evesham?

Think it’s only the uk where that would seem odd (at least in the last 40 years or so). The main line up the Rhine was semaphore under the wires for years - and there were still pockets of it in Germany till very recently (if not still).

Winning on the freight only Cambois branch of the Blyth and Tyne has a set of semaphores protecting the crossing including 2 fixed distants for Tyneside ROC's new signals at Marcheys House and West Sleekburn junctions.

Germany has such a vast network there are very likely to be some semaphores remaining in quiet backwaters, just like the UK. The much smaller Belgian network removed its last semaphores in 2019.

Class 395 HS1 services start with KVB and colour lights at St Pancras before switching to TVM on Hs1 and then changing again to colour lights with AWS and TPWS at Ashford International before arriving at Deal still controlled by Semaphore signals.

I was referring to sections of electrified inter-city mainlines still semaphore signalled. Horb, for example, a significant junction on the Stuttgart - Singen line, only went colour light in the spring of this year.

Most of those on the ex GWR/WR will be lower quadrant, but by no means all - off the top of my head Shrewsbury is one that has a mix (and a colour light or two!)

Has the ex-MR l/q distant at Ketton gone now, anyone?

Interesting. I note Openrailwaymap is still showing the semaphores there. There are still some mechanical lever signal boxes surviving on the West Coast Main Line, notably around Stockport, but I don't think any of them control any semaphores or direct mechanical points any more.
Some photos of Stockport No.1 for example:

The Great Western Railway and Western Region continued to use lower quadrants long after other companies had changed to upper quadrants. However, a number of areas, particularly the lines north of Aynho, Hartlebury and Craven Arms, were transferred to other regions: as signals were replaced the new region often did so to its (upper quadrant) standard. Shrewsbury was originally Western-style signalling, but some signals were replaced on a like-for-like basis and other by LM designs.

Ellesmere Port - I believe it's the only time Merseyrail see a semaphore signal - at the end of the electrified platform.

No idea about Uttoxeter, but Moreton-in-Marsh on the Cotswold Line still has semaphores in the station area. The lever frame also operates colour light signals further out.

The remaining semaphores at Ascott-Under-Wychwood and Evesham were removed in 2011, when digital panels replaced the lever frames as part of the redoubling project.

This page has lots of photos of the situation pre and post-redoubling at Moreton-in-Marsh.

Dee Marsh has not had any semaphores in quite literally decades. Frodsham Junction had its semaphores removed in early 2018 and has had a panel ever since.

Peterborough still has some - not sure of the official name, but I think it's Eastfield Sidings that have them.
Yes, Eastfield, but a number of replacements are underway. Some of the shunt discs have been replaced with position lights, and I believe the remaining semaphore arms are being replaced with colour lights fairly soon.

Are there still semaphores on the line through Uttoxeter and on the Cotswold line through Evesham?
Yes - Eggington, Tutbury & Hatton, Sudbury, Scropton, Uttoxeter and Foley Crossing all have semaphores - Caverswall had all theirs removed in 1989. As mentioned above, Moreton-in-Marsh is the only Cotswold line box to still have semaphores.
