I recently applied for a Trainee Conductor vacancy with Arriva Trains Wales at Crewe and Chester. On paper, I was the ideal candidate as I was previously a Conductor with Northern Rail and currently work as a driver with Metrolink. Despite putting everything into the application and really selling myself to them, my application didn't even get beyond the first stage and I was told I couldn't be given feedback.
I can only assume that the reason for rejection is due to the fact that I live in Manchester and possibly therefore too far away from the advertised depots, although there was nothing specifying distances on the vacancy ad. Can anyone shed any light on this so I know whether or not to bother applying for any future vacancies? Thanks!
