And also, Im sure Voyager seats are narrower, due to their narrower body profiles, so it would make the aisles too wide! I think getting Voyager seats would be somewhat difficult as maybe they are patent to Virgin!
Virgin probably thought it was not worth patenting any of the Voyager design as no other sensible TOC would want to use parts from them!
And actually, wasn't there something to do with the name that nearly got MML into a bit of trouble?? And that's why they called the Meridians *Meridians* instead of Voyagers?

Nope, because they actually aren't Voyagers.
sure, they are a different class allocation, but apart from a few minor technical details and cosmetics, they are identical

It goes far deeper than that. They are not identical.
I understand they are going for a Voyager style interior. Whether this extends to ensuring about 20% of the seats have no window view I'm not sure.![]()
Was in Wabtec yesterday and staff said it will be a 'mallardised' interior with a few minor alterations. There is also to be one small buffet counter type thing per train in the first class vehicles (similar to the TSOB vehicles converted for 'one').
Cross Country sets will be worse, with presumably, in the 6 standard class coaches, only 5 normal toilets, 1 disabled and 5 luggage racks
First Class I presume will get 3 toilets and 3 luggage racks...
Could be fun!
