I purchased a "return" train trip from Norwich to Nottingham, that was cheaper to get as four individual advance single tickets (splitting the ticket at Peterborough in both directions).
The train leaving Norwich last Tuesday morning (5:49) was cancelled and the customer service at Norwich station had no information on when the next service would run or if there would be a bus replacement (apparently there was a fault with the points near the station).
Needing to be in Nottingham by 2pm, I felt my only option was to hire a car for the two day trip, which cost £170 on top of my four unused train tickets.
Can I reclaim the cost of the whole train trip (4 advance tickets) or can I only claim a refund for the initial Norwich to Peterborough leg that was cancelled?
