Finsbury Park is a good location, however you do have the barriers and a short walk down stairs under the subway and up more stairs. At least with Moorgate to Essex Road you are not going to get last minute platform changes. The 313s sound better on DC in my view.

Anyways winners my needed trip to London on Christmas Eve to visit the Chinese Visa Application centre:

Great Northern:
313018; 313024; 313029; 313038; 313042; 313045; 313050; 313051; 313052; 313055; 313056; 313059; 313061; 313064; 313122; 313123; 313134; 317337; 317347; 365509; 365513; 365521 (16x 313s left, those 317s were sheer luck a hop on at Finsbury just as the door buzzer went)

SWT:
444023; 450009; 455711; 455725; 455738; 455865; 455867; 455872; 455903

South Eastern:
376004; 376031; 465004

Southern:
377422; 455833; 455846

Thameslink:
319384; 319432; 319445; 377515; 377521; 387107; 387108

Oh good God no, 313s sound MUCH better on AC than DC! 319s definitely sound far superior, even 377s are better under the wires!

A most successful trip there by the looks of it, is your 313 count including the Southern 313/2s? If so you're doing a fair bit better than me, I still need 11 GN 313s plus whatever it is on the Southern!

My EOTY requirements are as follows:

Locos/HST power cars:

43s: 6 (half of what I needed this time last year!)
67s: 3 (at least half of what I needed in December 2013!)
90s: 5 (not including DBS/Freightliner 90s)
91s: 14

Obviously I'm not including anything non-passenger in my counts!

DMUs:

121: 1 (I will get 121020 in 2015!)
139: Cleared
142: 36
143: Cleared
144: 12
150: 28 (I'm still disappointed by this figure, I was aiming to clear the 150s in 2005 and I'm still going through them!)
153: 19
155: 4 (I know, I know, I need to get to West Yorkshire ASAP!)
156: 52
158: 26 (drastically lowered from this time last year!)
159: Cleared
165: 21
166: 7
168: Cleared
170: 26 (hugely lowered from December 2013!)
171: 12
172: 2
175: Cleared
180: Cleared
185: 11
220: Cleared
221: Cleared
222: 16
Total: 272

EMUs:

313: 24 (down by at least 16 since December 2013!)
314: 1 (this is only 1/8th of what I needed before my last trip to Scotland. Yes, really I did get 7 out of 8 of my required 314s when I was up there, the trip report will detail this soon enough!)
315: 22
317: 44 (includes stored 317s)
318: 1 (down from 5 before my last Scottish trip!)
319: 36
320: 5
321: 73
322: 3
323: Cleared
332: 12
333: 5
334: 13
350: 21
357: 56 (you can tell I don't do much with c2c when I'm down in London!)
360: 14
365: 21
375: 59 (massively down from December 2013, thanks to my Kent Rover trip!)
376: 24
377: 108 (thankfully it would appear no more 377s are being built, so this number will eventually decrease!)
378: 27
379: 18
380: 12 (down from 19 I needed in December 2013!)
387: 29
390: 9
395: 14 (dropped down nicely following the Kent Rover trip!)
442: 12
444: 12
450: 72
455: 66
456: 16
458: 36 (this doesn't include the 458/0s, of which I need a fair few, but is just 458/5s)
465: 73 (another significant decrease from December 2013, thanks to the Kent Rover trip!)
466: 32
483: 2
507: 3 (significant decrease and a half from December 2013, thanks to multiple trips to Merseyside in 2014. Now I just need to get back up there and finish the job!)
508: 1 (same as 507s)
Total: 975 (obviously this doesn't include the 345s, 387/2s, 700s, 800s, 801s and anything else I'm missing that are all coming eventually, so this number won't be coming down much for a long time!)

I haven't got lists for London Underground or any other light rail/Metro systems. I'm hoping 2015 brings a lot of these classes either right close to completion or cleared!

That, I will imagine, will be that for this year. A very successful year all round I'd say. I do like Techniquest's list of requirements, so I will compile one of those shortly.

I'm not going to do a detailed list, but at last count, I have 218 DMUs remaining. EMUs are pretty horrid atm to say the least, as I suspect there is well in excess of 1000 remaining.

Cleared classes are: 121, 139, 180, 220, 222, 314, 318, 322, 333
Those with less than 10 units remaining are: 143 (1), 144 (4), 155 (3), 166 (3), 170 (2), 171 (7), 172 (7), 175 (4), 185 (1), 221 (2), 319 (4), 320 (2), 323 (3), 332 (2), 334 (5), 390 (9), 442 (3), 456 (4), 507 (8), 508 (2)

Not sure how locos are counted but I require one solitary 91, one 43, and twelve 67s. I have three 57/3, two 57/6, and nineteen of the forty-nine 90s crossed off.

Interesting to compare lists there TEW, quite the difference between your list and mine! I hope I can add 'Cleared' to more classes this time next year!

Bring on 2015 I say!

What I suspect was my final 'winner' of the year today, 68007 at the Mid Norfolk Railway, as seen here:

From a delayed start (Southampton) for a couple hours around Waterloo/Victoria before heading to do the Virgin diversion (rare track) and finally managing to get Soho-Perry Bar in [the route taken by the Rugeley TV trains bypassing Aston].

Crosscountry: 220022; 221138

London Midland: 170501; 323205; 323206 (need more 323 action)

Southern:
377109; 377154; 377155; 377608; 377623

Sadly it'd be easier for me to post what I have got rather than what I haven't, but I'm pleased to at least have got, as far as I'm aware, might have to double check every 96TS (both halves this time) and every 357. I can't be far off every AGA 321 either... I won't fret over the GN/LM/NR ones just yet.

New units from today's 'Suburban' First Class Sampler:

AGA: 315824; 315825; 315827; 315853; 317508; 317514; 321319; 321321; 321430; 379005; 379015; 379016

FGW: 165106; 165125

Great Northern: 365503; 365524

South Eastern: 375711; 375713; 375801; 375816; 375911; 375927; 465009; 465043

Southern: 377102; 377301; 377319; 377411; 377459; 377462; 377614

SWT: 444022; 450001; 450005; 450105; 450108; 450548; 450564; 455708; 455709; 455860; 455862; 458008; 458016; 458021 (82% which is quite impressive, no dud 450s)

Thameslink: 319217; 319367; 319375; 319448; 377215; 377517

Excluding the 159s, 71 unique units travelled on today (managed to get a pair of 458s twice) of which 55 were new (77%), I'm happy with that result, sadly I didn't get the chance to sample first class in a 360 as the services I would have thought they would have been on were 321s. Free water on the 379s was a nice bonus (and I forgot about the FC lounge at Paddington :(). Most impressive FC area though for me is the 458s, comfy seats, nice size table and plug sockets (which are lacking on the 375s) in between the seats (similar to the 395s). Plus managed to double my number of 377/3s to 4!

Okay, seeing people are looking at what they have remaining after another 12 months of red penning I thought I would do the same, although the result either means I hang my head in shame or look forward to a bumper year next year knocking more off....think I like the latter of the two but here goes.

Glad to see others also making EOTY lists, I've genuinely enjoyed comparing my needs to the lists published.

andyb2706, you have included something I didn't think to add, that being the 68s. I shall be adding those to my lists in future. I also wish you good luck in 2015 in bringing those numbers down, it will happen eventually! For example, I need 108 377s (so just under half of what you need) but do bear in mind my first 377 was had almost 10 years ago! All my lists are the result of over 10 years of work at it!

Noddy1878 You're doing well, and I'm only 29 DMUs behind you I see. I'll be changing that in February I hope!

Well, if we are making lists:

My total stands at 216 new for the year (locos only):

UK = 61 new
Switzerland = 31
Hungary = 23
Bulgaria & Germany = 18 each
Slovenia = 17
Croatia = 15
Bosnia = 12
Greece = 7
Austria = 6
Belgium = 3
Serbia = 2
Czech Republic, Netherlands & Turkey = 1

Note; two of the Austrian locos were had in Hungary and one in Slovenia and the Czech loco was also had in Slovenia. They were all on hire to railways in those countries but I prefer to count them under their country of ownership.

There might be more to add as there is a possibility of getting some Swiss locos on New Years Eve but I will be surprised if I get more than one or two.

I've just made my locos list,ready for the clearout I'm planning to have with the HST power cars and 90s (I would like to end 2015 with all my 91s in the book but that's unlikely), but my NREA says there's only 15 68s. andyb2706's list suggests there's 25 of them, which could be a typo of course.

Is it 15, 25 or another figure for the 68s?

I guess we should also be preparing for the 73s, 88s (possibly!) and 92s we'll all start cranking on soon too!

TOPS has 25 class 68s listed but only 1 to 15 are registered at present.

The other 10 are a follow-up order I assume? I really am behind the times with 68s, I have no idea what's happening there!

55013's list mentions 57s, which I haven't solely because I cleared the /3s and /6s years ago. Not including the /0s, even though I had 57012 in 2006, because of their non-passenger status.

I was quite impressed with a lot of your DMU requirements 55013, doing better than me! Of course your EMU requirements were quite surprising!

What are the 143s, 175s, 185s and 221s that you require?!

My plans for 2015 include bashing EMUs down south!

I was quite impressed with a lot of your DMU requirements 55013, doing better than me!

I've been around for a long, long time!
I even managed to get 142059 for haulage! Nobody had that after November 1991.

An interesting view of it (not mine) can be found here:

Of course your EMU requirements were quite surprising!

Yeah, I know, maybe 2015 will see me getting a few more out of the way.

The other 10 are a follow-up order I assume? I really am behind the times with 68s, I have no idea what's happening there!
I'm not very well up on these sort of things myself but this page says an option for 10 more locos was taken up back in September and that 10 class 88s have been ordered; these are also already on TOPS (but not registered).

142059 was the only Pacer I missed, other than 140001 which I'm still hopeful of one day....

Given that it seems to be in fashion to do a summary of unit requirements, here's mine:

156: 1
158: 2
165: 5
166: 2
170: 2
332: 6
350: 10
377: 3
378: All for extending
387: All
390: 2, plus 7 for extending
395: 4
444: 7, plus 1 for 1 car
458/5: Had 4, will need to work out what cars I require when things are more settled, I never had 460002/03/04/05/06/08.

I've excluded 365526 and 390033, more chance of me scoring the track to the moon!

On a little day-trip to Fishguard Harbour to cover that bit of track missed off during my West Wales trip in June (plus the Carmarthen avoiding line and the junction from the Cardiff bound side of the Swansea District Line):

ATW: 143622; 150208; 150217; 150241; 150281; 153312; 158838; 175004; 175110

FGW: 150131; 150221; 153318; 153325; 43156 (twice!)

Plus a brucie bonus surprise this morning as SWT's 158882 was the unit FGW was borrowing today, only 158885 to go of the SWT's 158s :)

If you've managed to get 142008 or 059 you must have been around for a long time! I was lucky to get 390033 following an all-nighter at Carlisle years ago, only ever had a trip with it Carlisle to Crewe.

theblackwatch, you've clearly at this for a while now if that's all you need!

I'm now looking forward to posting my scores on Monday, no doubt it'll just be a few 350s or 390s but it all counts!
