Back on February 23rd, I finally got myself a 465, from London Bridge to Lewisham. Later in the day, I also got a 319 for the first time, from City Thameslink to St Pancras. And had I not ran out of time, I might also have cleared a 165/166 from Paddington to some suburban West London station.

Wise move, I've gone for stuff I thought I needed when I'd had it years before several times due to inefficient bookkeeping. 153377 I think was one, then 220005 was another. Not good stuff if you've been festering for hours for one of your last 220s when you've had it a good 5 years or more beforehand!

On the subject of 'random contraptions', earlier today I rode behind a traction engine on rails for the first time - see the attached photo of it. (If anyone wants more info on it, please visit http://www.brc-stockbook.co.uk/Bluecircle.htm )

Other recent scores for me have been 09017 at the NRM and Beattie Well Tank 30585. I also scored a few units last month including my last 2 Class 171s, which I ended up having on the same train - it's nice to have some good luck occasionally.

I suppose the highlight was clearing my 377s for travel again but with the 377/6s on the horizon, that will be shortlived.
Other highlights (for me at least)
- only one set of 1996 tube stock left to ride and that's 96114 which I believe is paired with 96067;
- first new locos of the year. OK only three skips but we'll try for some more quality soon; and
- four pairs of S-8 stock left to get and I believe at least two of those are back at Derby for modifications (21003/04 and 21005/06).

Roll on summer! (well, at least Summer Time)

I did the Bluebell and Spa Valley Railways yesterday, which got me 2 new steam ('U' class 1638 and Jinty 47493). I'm now down to 7 'in ticket' ex main line steam locos.

The previous day saw me get my penultimate Class 450 and 466 units, along with my last 375/3 and a couple of 365s.
