I think anything you want to count ...... counts!

I note, for example, that most people on here only list units as single entities e.g. 323227. Personally I want all three coaches. Separately.

Mainly because units can be reformed.

I'm the opposite with units. I've sampled 158757, for example, on numerous occasions, both as a 2-car and a 3-car unit - and make no distinction. It counts once and that's it!

Its similar with locos in a way. 47349 appeared at an ELR dieselfest a good few years ago. Even though its had its gizzards transmogrified and been renumbered 57603, the red pen only applies once.

Just to prove my inconsistency, 1st gen DMMUs are recorded by power car, but Thumper DEMUs by set number...

I think anything you want to count ...... counts!

Yep, its really whatever you want to count! I count any unit or loco which has, or could conceivably have a TOPS number, plus light rail. One of these days I'll get a class 99

The one I've never understood is that some people count a DVT in a formation but not the coaching stock itself... but then each to their own!

A Manchester Wayfarer produced Trams 3006/12/16/20/32/35/48 whilst trundling about the metro, plus Pendo 52 on the way back from an evening trip to Macc. (Edit - and Pendo 40 a bit earlier - so memorable I forgot it...!)

Both 221s were my last ones to get, so extremely glad to finally add them to the list of DMU classes cleared! That list is populated only by 143, 159, 175, 220 and now 221 so far, but other classes are getting closer and various sub-classes are already there. Gonna be a long time before I clear the 156s, 158s and 170s mind, since that means many trips to Scotland!

I normally only post locos in here but recent cops (yesterday) included Metrolink Trams 1009, 1013, 1021 and 1024 which means I only need 1008, 1018 and 1020 from the original batch - all of which have been withdrawn.

A good batch of 30xx series were also had!

As I hinted at in earlier posts, the DLR was a very weak area in London. Not so much now though. I was particularly pleased with last Sunday's jaunt on the Central Line with 17 out of 42 required 1992 ts sets falling by the wayside; I can see me having fun getting those last 25 units.
Pickings off the mainline network have been thin but FCC have managed to throw up three out of four 377/5s. Only 377515 to go and then that will be 377s cleared again (I had all of them before the 377/5s were built).

And you'll have to start them again soon enough when the 377/6s arrive! It took me years to finish the 377s for sight, then the /5s arrive and I've had to take the class off my list of completed classes for sight! Same with the 350s soon enough too!

Doing well by the looks of it there, hoping to smash my way through the 350s and 390s more on Monday
