485/5 and their 10 car versions has always had graphics. The 10 car version fits my desktop screen whereas for the 701 I have to scroll to see the leading car, are they really longer?

Morning

No train allocations shown for C2C and Northern trains so far at all today. Also, there seems to be only a limited amount shown on other TOCs as well.

This seems to happen a lot on Real Time Trains. Is there a problem with showing train allocations from each TOC or is it a problem with the data feeds that seem to be very unreliable?

Thank you
There was a planned TOPS outage 0200-0400 this morning so that may have played a part

Are you able to somehow show Tfw’s 153s with the AT numbers if they are running without another train

The 730/2s are now showing in the correct green livery (no longer the incorrect orange/purple), which is good.

However, the Marston Vale 150s, the 458/4s, the 756s and the 807s still have no graphics - does @Tom or anyone else know when we might expect them to be added?
Well if anyone else thinks they know they can be my guest and tell you. There is a pipeline which takes its time to get through - I think you’ll see the 807s next. The 730/2s were easy enough because the graphics were already done as part of the initial delivery for WMT, but I hadn’t seen any out to play when we did the first release.

I know it would create more work but for me, the preference would be to only have the graphics displayed in the Simple mode (which I never use) but get rid of them in the Detailed mode.
They are not going to be removed.

This is because I would suspect that the majority of the users of RTT Detailed mode would probably already know what a 150, 756 and 807 and every other train type looks like.
I think you might be surprised at how many people used the detailed mode who are not enthusiasts.

We’re looking into this.

To the best of my knowledge, a TOPS outage won’t cause an issue here. However, it is a more general railway system maintenance window too.

However, more importantly: if there’s a complete loss of all allocations then this is something that we can probably do something about. If it’s just a couple of operators then the likelihood is that it’s completely out of our control and is somewhere in the matrix. This will equally affect everyone else when the Gemini feed gets more generally released to others.

They were based off the class 345 vehicle graphics which we have had done for a very long time. During the painting process the designer didn’t catch that they were different dimensions.

Just wanted to say that you're doing a fantastic job and not to let the nit-pickers and moaners, who I'm sure are a tiny but vocal majority, upset your equilibrium. I'm glad to hear that you are looking at the TFW 153's.

Edit: Oops! MINORITY

Seconded. RTT is an amazing resource and the graphics need to be down the priority list, the most important thing is a fully functional site, which RTT most certainly has.

Thirded!

I discovered RTT far later than I wish I had. I moved to the south coast in 2017, to within earshot of Bedhampton (SWR, Sou) station. All too often, I heard something go past that so blatantly wasn't an EMU; and I'd be none the wiser.

Two and a half years of using RTT, it's been invaluable to me - it's the reason why I was able to photograph the clas ls 313s' scrap moves in 2023; and it enabled me to run a whimsical photos thread on this forum, of loco-hauled movements in my locality.

I find RTT's gui simple and clear to use. It serves my needs. I still get a smile when I spot some of the data sent across and translated onto RTT. Attached examples today, were the first time I've seen cancellation reason code showing for lineside vegetarian! I think it was, sadly, actually due to a person hit by train.

For some reason RTT shows Freight trains passing through Crewe station and via Salop Goods Jn in the same schedule - which is impossible

It only seems to affect trains that are routed via Sandbach in both directions
Trains from/to Winsford show correctly

An example

Other online systems don't show this routing

Times in black are the times actually in the Schedule, times in grey are RTT's interpolation, so the train is planned via the Independent Lines and RTT has invented the route through the station.

Even though the train did not run via the station

The route via Crewe station is due to be fixed soon.

The 807s have been available for about a week ;)

Great news! Hopefully not too long now until the 756s.

Hello @Tom A question which I apologise if it's been already answered farther back in this thread; I couldn't find info via a keyword search.

I'm mindful some TOCs don't provide data of their allocated motive power, so it isn't visible on RTT's gui. Do you have a reference list of which TOCs do provide that data? Perhaps as a "sticky" for this thread?
By way of example, for workings in my area, I see the assigned motive power on activated paths for SWT, Cross Country, GWR, Colas and GBRf; but not for Southern, DB and Freightliner.

Know Your Train is our way of helping you become more familiar with the railway network and be more confident when travelling.

It shows diagrams of the trains operating on a service, together with the facilities available onboard, to help you be informed and know what to expect when travelling by train.

https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/about/knowyourtrain/ lists them

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but I just noticed that the POPULAR DEPARTURE BOARDS section on the main RTT page
always has a random shack at the end, like this:

Refreshing the page changes the selection to something equally obscure!
