Just come across this article on the National Grid website.
The work is currently being done to connect the substation and the new trackside feeder, so does this mean that announcement of the electrification from Southcote Junction to Basingstoke Line is imminent, or am I misunderstanding this completely, or is electrification already planned? The cable running to the trackside feeder is 25kV which would suggest overhead electrification. Is this just being put in place in advance for electrification in the next 10-15 years, or is this indicative of a project starting within the next few years?

To support Network Rail to reinforce, future-proof, and decarbonise its electrical network, earlier this year, National Grid began work to install a Supergrid transformer at Bramley substation and connect it to a new trackside feeder station at Holly Cross.
