I really hate it when people paint over screws. Seems to be happening more and more these days as people want to finish paint jobs quickly but it really looks sloppy and can cause trouble in the future.

Don't make excuses, I had real screw problems with my butt yesterday. I was making, for me, a very brave attempt at fitting the diverter from the downpipe to my water butt without causing a major disaster to the house and its foundations, the old bodger had put two different size screws in the downpipe bracket, while causing as much damage to them as he could, and then plastered them in numerous coats of kevlar armoured paint

As an aside, the instructions actually said 'drill a 26mm hole', does a 26mm drill bit actually exist?

Yes it does but 1" (25.4mm) is probably near enough.

I don't have a dog, I stepped in a mess from one on Wednesday and it smelt horrible. Not a good advert for dogs really.

A dog's mess? Had it left its clothes lying around or not washed the dishes after a meal? You're lucky it hadn't defaecated, that really stinks.

Yes I think so. Also an Ottery office is quite hard to work in if you're a human, although there is all the beaver to take your mind off the wetness.
