I just remembered that I tried to start this thread once. It got deleted, possibly because I didn't start out by making the longest innuendo in history.

Our French exchange girl has puked in her bedroom. She's really doing my head in now.

Does anyone ever wonder whether members who have contributed regularly to this forum in the past, but no longer choose to do so, have simply lost interest for an extended period of time, or if they have real life commitments that are getting in the way instead?

(This is not for discussing members who have been banned, mind)

I don't post as much as I did August.

Perhaps she was homesick. :\

Is that a euphemism? If so you're a very lucky man.

Trying to think of a witty retort but can't

The other day we were all up on Dartmoor by a lake trying to talk about wildlife to her (we'd seen some newts in the water), we couldn't remember the French word for frog and we were doing impressions of one and repeatedly saying FROG! to her when I thought, this is all kinds of wrong.

I was looking at the ASLEF website page for DB Cargo today, for old times sake you understand, and noticed that under 'enhanced training' it states "New stimulators on order", did I leave too early?

Are they powered directly off the main generator or will drivers have to supply their own batteries?

Knowing the old EWS philosophy drivers will definitely have to provide their own, this does possibly answer the 'Why do class 66s ying?' question though ......

That's the biggest problem we face these days - things keep happening. As Harold Macmillan is reputed to have said, "Events, dear boy, events".

It's true. You can't switch on the news without seeing news these days.

About the length of a biology lesson.

I think that subject ended there because we all know we couldn't top his answer.

I'd just like to say (unrelated to frogs by the way) that bank holidays are great because not only is it gone 2am and I don't care, but I don't have to paint anything until Tuesday.
I was watching stuff on the iPad and got told off for laughing too much though, so I'll probably have to do some DIY tomorrow just to make up for it, but hey. It could be worse, it could be a normal Monday on Monday and that wouldn't be great...

When we go on holiday we are advised to cancel the milk and newspapers so it's not obvious to burglars that the house is empty however when banks go on holiday they tell the whole world. Irresponsible or what? My advice is to withdraw all your money on the Friday before the bank holiday then pay it in again on the Tuesday.

Not sure if there's room under the mattress for the 87p though.
