I'm going to try, at a venture: Walsingham, Norfolk (Dereham -- Wells-next-the-Sea line).

I'm low on inspiration for Railway General Knowledge questions at present: open floor, please.

Cliddesden, on the basically unlucky and "not open much of the time" Basingstoke -- Alton branch formerly of the LSWR. As before -- if correct, open floor.

Sticking to the 1940 theme, which locomotive managed to lift 25 coaches (about 750 tons tare, 830 gross) out of Kings Cross on April 5th of that year.
Safe to say, it wasn't a Class 31. :D

English Electric 10000?
Not even a twinkle in Mr Ivatt's eye in 1940!

Silver Link?
That's the one. LNER A4 Pacific 2509 "Silver Link". She did take 16 minutes to Finsbury Park, but after that an average of 50mph to Grantham wasn't bad, especially given the wartime blanket speed restriction of 60mph. According to O.S. Nock, the front nine coaches were off the platform end at Kings Cross and the locomotive and front coach inside Gasworks Tunnel!

Your record length passenger train to haul.

Cheers

Another where am I.

The first part of this station in mainland Europe opened in 1973 replacing an earlier station. The present day station is on three levels the lowest level being a twelve platform main line terminus while just outside are four tram stops serving four routes. Above the main line platforms there are four more tram stops serving a further five routes with a bus station next door while at the top level there are two Metro platforms used by a line from a neighbouring city. Where am I?
