Here goes then.
Which new railway yard partly opened in 1917, was built by German Prisoners of War. Was closed in 1960s, but part of site is now back in use.

Cheers. Try this one.

Which signal box controlling semaphore signals is the only operational Network Rail signal box within the boundaries of the English shire county where it is situated?

Yeovil Pen Mill?
Sorry missed that one. That is indeed the correct answer. After Basingstoke took over control of the Salisbury-Exeter line resulting in the closure of Templecombe, Yeovil Junction and Chard Junction boxes Yeovil Pen Mill is now the only operational Network Rail signal box in Somerset.

Your turn to pull the levers.

Up the creek
There is an operating Network Rail signalbox even older than Par on a line that used to see broad-gauge trains. Which box?

EDITED: ‘operating’ added.
