Is the answer the Circle Line?
From Chester you can fit in Mid Cheshire line - Stockport - Denton - Philips Park Curve - Brewery Junction - Rochdale - Todmorden Curve - Blackburn - Preston
Is the answer the Circle Line?

a) Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty
b) Depending on route:
Great Broughton, Seaton, Workington Central;
or: Papcastle, Brigham, Camerton
c) Glanamman, Ammanford Colliery Halt, Ammanford
I'm afraid that you're missing a station on both the Maryport & Carlisle Railway and the Cleator & Workington Junction Railway. Admittedly I'd forgotten about the C&WJR, only thought about the line to Brigham.![]()
Re the "northern" (CWJR) route, the plot thickens: I now discover two fresh locations between Great Broughton, and Seaton (Cumberland): Buckhill Colliery Halt and Camerton Colliery Halt. Re the "southern" route: Broughton Cross station, west of Brigham? I'd thought Broughton Cross to be freight-only.
Broughton Cross was also a passenger station. But I'm afraid you're missing another one between there and Bulgill.
Add the next three terms of each sequence:
a). Tillynaught, Portsoy, Glassnaugh, Tochineal, ?, ?, ?
b). Arkleby, Bulgill, Dearham, Linefoot, ?, ?, ?
c). Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Red Lion Crossing Halt, Gors-Y-Garnant Halt, Garnant Halt, ?, ?, ?
142009?
One of the prototypes was demonstrated overseas wasn't it? USA or Canada or somewhere? Was it 140 001 or whatever it was that they properly called that LEV-1 thing?
Open floor if I'm right.
Was it 142049 which operated a shuttle service between Abbotsford and Vancouver in Canada back in 1986 in an attempt to gain some export orders for BREL/Leyland?
The Right Honourable Member for Stockport has got it. Incidentally, whilst there, Mrs Thatcher took a short ride on her. When she came back, for many years the number 1 end carried a maple leaf sticker
Your floor
Sounds like the XP64 set.

Which was - and I stress was - the only B.R. line where the trains operated with red lights on the front as well as the back at all times in normal service. These were passenger carrying trains.
