List at least five different narrow gauges used in North Wales for transporting slates, and an example of each.

For the purposes of this question, I'm defining different as meaning a difference of more than half an inch - some of the earlier railways were a little flexible in their measurements.

Penrhyn Quarry Railway - 1ft 10.75in.
Ffestiniog Railway [originally built for slate] - 1ft 11.5in.
Croesor Tramway - 2ft.
Corris Railway - 2ft 3in.
Padarn Railway - 4ft.

That's a good list, but there's only half an inch between the Ffestiniog and Croesor gauges, so I put them in the same pigeon-hole. Can you find a different one?

Most certainly. That's a fine set you've given. (What's the collective noun for a group of narrow gauge railways? :P)

Other gauges I'd found when researching the question included the Deeside tramway, at 2ft 6 in, and the original Gorseddau tramway, laid at 3ft before being changed to match the 2ft Croesor tramway in the 1870s.
