I can only name one Australian composer (with apologies to any Australians on the Forum - I'm sure there have been others but I couldn't name any of them! ), and he is Percy Grainger, whose father was from a Northumbrian family of builders and engineers. Thomas Grainger was the chief engineer of the Leeds Northern Railway, and was killed in a train crash at Stockton in 1852. I don't actually know if there was a family connection between the two, but it does seem one heck of a coincidence!

I will add that the date on the back of the ticket is unclear but can just read.....September 1940 so you can eliminate any line closed before then.

1. On re-examining ticket the date on the back appears as....September 1945
2. From the area of UK I will narrow down to either England, Scotland or Wales.
3. The railway was standard gauge and connected with the main line system
4. The railway was also known with the initials...."CMR"...
