Yes went there a couple of years ago. Ok which transcontinental road has part of its route on a former and now deviated part of a transcontinental railway?

Ok been a few days now. The answer is the Trans Canada Highway 1. A section through the Rockies is on the trackbed of Big Hill on the Trans Canadian Railroad. Big Hill was the scence of many spectacular runaways and in its early days up to 8 locos would be needed to get a train over it . Open Floor.
